The boundaries for Kaiaua are as follows - On the Northwest from Orere Point (36°57'27.6"S, 175°14'57.9"E) south to Miranda (37°11'04.5"S, 175°19'06.5"E) east to the GPS coordinates (37°10'59.3"S, 175°24'42.2"E), north to the GPS coordinates (36°57'20.7"S, 175°20'56.1"E) going back to Orere Point. PCR: Ngaati Whanaunga's traditional rohe stretches from Matakana in the North to Matakana in the south covering the eastern seaboard, and includes the Auckland isthmus as well as the islands within the Hauraki Gulf. Ngaati Whanaunga also traditionally had interests in Hauturu and Aotea. |

Application area | The northern-most mainland coastal boundary marker is Ocean Beach. The boundary line then extends north-west from Ocean Beack to Karewa (Gannet Island). From there, the boundary extends in a radius around Karewa Island to the edge of the territorial sea. From Ocean Beach, the common marine and coastal area extends southward towards Tauratahi Point, which is the northen head of Kawhia Harbour and includes Kawhia Harbour. From Urawhikiti Point, which is the southern head of Kawhia Harbour, the boundary continues southwards around Albatross Point and then further south to where it ends at Matunau Rocks. The boundary line then extends westward from Motunau Roucks to the edge of the territorial sea. From there, the boundary heads north to where it intersects with the boundary that is around Karewa. The northern-most (coastal boundary marker is Karewa (also known as Gannet Island). From the coastline surrounding Karewa, the boundary extends 12 natuical miles to the edge of the territorial sea. |
